- The iMac is bumped to 266MHz and now available in 5 fruit flavours. The new models have larger hard disks but no IrDA or PCI Mezzanine slot. [more]
- The Power Macintosh G3 gets a new Blue and White enclosure. USB and FireWire are now standard and the system bus is boosted to 100MHz. [more]
- The Blue and White Studio Display line is introduced with a choice of a 15-inch LCD, 17-inch CRT or 21-inch CRT. [more]

- PowerBook G3 prices are lowered again from $2,499 to $2,299 on the low-end and $4,399 to $3,699 on the high-end. [more]

- The low-end PowerBook G3 gets its price reduced to $1,999. [more]

- iMac quietly bumped to 333MHz with no other significant changes. [more]

- The PowerBook G3 gets a new slimmer enclosure, 333MHz or 400MHz processors and onboard USB. [more]

- Power Macintosh G3 models are bumped by 50MHz with almost no other changes. [more]

- The iBook is unveiled running at 300MHz with a choice of Tangerine or Blueberry and integrated AirPort. [more]
- The AirPort Base Station and AirPort Card are introduced to complement the iBook. [more]
August 31, 1999
- The Power Mac G4 is introduced in 400MHz, 450MHz & 500MHz configurations. The low-end model uses a G3-derived motherboard. The other two feature a new design with AGP graphics and optional AirPort. [more]
- To accompany the Power Mac G4, Apple introduces the Cinema Display, a 22-inch LCD available only as a build-to-order option. Apple's CRT displays get new Graphite enclosures to match the Power Mac G4. A Graphite 15-inch LCD is also discussed, but Apple will continue shipping the Blue and White VGA LCD until December, when the Graphite DVI model finally ships. [more]
